A. Video Experience, the oldest video store in Arcata, closed down in 2009 due to their building being sold. One of the owners of La Dolce Video was an employee of Video Experience, and we bought all of their inventory to keep their amazing collection of hard-to-find movies available for rental.

Q. Do you have BBC television series?
A. Yes! We have an enormous collection of BBC 'telly,' both popular shows and hard-to-find ones. We also have quirky Canadian TV, and of course a large selection of American TV shows, from the 1950s to the latest hits, from sitcoms to sci-fi.
Q. Do you have anime?
A. Yes! We have a sizable selection of anime, some of which are imports that have not been released in the U.S. All are subtitled.
Q. Do you only have old black and white movies and artsy foreign films?
A. Of course not. We have a Will Ferrell section, for goodness' sake! We carry all the popular new releases you'll find elsewhere, we just have a much larger selection of movies you won't find elsewhere.
Q. Do I need a membership to rent? Is it free?
A. Yes, you need a membership, but it is FREE! Just bring a photo ID and an active credit or debit card when you sign up.
Q. Why do I need a bank card to sign up if it's free?
A. Because we let people rent up to 10 movies at a time, and many of them are rare and difficult to replace. Having a credit card on file is a security measure.
Q. Do you have prepaid plans?
A. Yes, we offer a pre-paid plan for New Releases. Prepay for 10, and get $10 off!
Q. Do you have any specials on New Releases?
A. Yes! We always give you 3 days with New Releases, and if you rent 3 of them, you get the third for 1/2 price!
