DAYBREAKERS - We can't wait to watch this new sci-fi-vampire-movie-with-a-message! Ethan Hawke stars as a scientist in the year 2019, a time in which a virus has turned most of the human population into vampires who require a steady supply of human blood. With humans nearly extinct, these vampires, including Hawke, must either hunt down and "farm" every human left alive, or find a blo xt/javascript"> od substitute before time runs out...

EDGE OF DARKNESS - Mel Gibson's remake of BBC's influential, must-see 1985 miniseries, featuring conspiracies galore.

CHELSEA ON THE ROCKS - This documentary by Abel Ferrara (of BAD LIEUTENANT fame) examines that infamous bohemian landmark of Manhattan, Chelsea Hotel. Ferrara mixes archival footage of past denizens like Janis Joplin, Andy Warhol, and William S. Burroughs with interviews of current residents like Ethan Hawke, Dennis Hopper, and director Milos Forman. And of course, there is a re-creation of the death of Nancy Spungen in boyfriend Sid Vicious' room. Both seedy and informative!

LEGION - If the recent number of movies about the apocalypse is any indication, the end must be near. In this one, folks at a dingy roadside diner battle archangels bent on the destruction of the human race. Stars Dennis Quaid as the diner's owner.

NORTH FACE - Man-versus-nature adventure film set in 1936 Germany, when Nazi propaganda urged German mountain climbers to be the first to conquer the perilous north face of the Eiger. This follows the journey of two reluctant climbers.

MALICE IN WONDERLAND - Lewis Carroll's classic meets British gangster flick! Alice is an American in the U.K. who gets amnesia after being hit by a cab. With the help of colorful underworld characters, she attempts to regain her identity.

LEGEND OF THE TSUNAMI WARRIOR - This Thai historical-fantasy-adventure is about an "orphan sea gypsy" who communes with marine animals and battles pirates and ocean sorcerers with his own magical martial arts. This boasts an impressive budget and gorgeous art direction, a la ONG BAK.

TIDAL WAVE - There seems to be a pattern here. This is Korea's largest budget film to date, and allegedly their first foray into the disaster movie genre. Also known as HAEUNDAE.

THE ROOM - This already infamous film (described by many critics as "the worst film ever made") falls into the so-bad-it's-good category, if you're interested in that sort of thing (and we sure are). What it's about is something of an enigma, but it has become a verifiable cult hit, with a loyal fan following.

And a couple highlights from our JUST ADDED section, available for the first time on DVD:

THE LANDLORD

This is the hilarious, hard-to-find directorial debut of Hal Ashby, best known for HAROLD & MAUDE, SHAMPOO, and BEING THERE. I like to refer to Ashby as 'The Original Wes Anderson.' In this social satire from 1970, Beau Bridges plays a wealthy young man who leaves his family's Long Island estate to look for love in a Brooklyn ghetto. Hal Ashby is currently one of our Featured Filmmakers.

CHURCH OF THE SUBGENIUS: ARISE!

The official brainwashing propaganda video of 1980s parody religion The Church of the Subgenius. Gaining prominence in underground music circles and college campuses, the "religion" was promoted by pop culture icons like R. Crumb and the band Devo, as well as early internet users of the 90s. The video mixes footage from 1950s educational videos and commercials with "hypnotic," psychedelic imagery and the preaching of the Subgenius gospel. Wonderfully satirical - and you've got to love those VHS camcorder effects!

TETRO - Francis Ford Coppola's first original screenplay since THE CONVERSATION, this is his semi-autobiographical story of an Argentine-Italian family of creative geniuses, shot in high-contrast black and white with occasional splashes of color.

NINE - A star-studded musical re-envisioning of Fellini's masterpiece 8 1/2, with Daniel Day-Lewis as famous director juggling the various women in his life (Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, and Kate Hudson among them).

TOKYO SONATA - This oft-requested film is the latest from Kiyoshi Kurosawa. A middle-class businessman hides his "downsizing" job loss from his family, which sets him on a downward spiral of distancing lies.

GROWING OP - Canadian comedy about a teenage boy growing up in a suburban grow house, where he is sheltered and home-schooled by his loving parents, until he decides to explore the outside world and meet people his own age...

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' - This playful Romanian satire stars Armand Assante as an American military officer who finds himself stuck in a small Romanian town while attempting to deliver equipment to NATO forces in Kosovo, circa 1999. His troop finds themselves hampered by stubborn bureaucracy and local feuding and corruption.

VIRTUALITY - A new feature-length pilot from the producer of SyFy's BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. Twelve astronauts on a 10-year journey to explore a distant planetary system have their stressful journey broadcast as reality TV for everyone back home. The journey is soon made all the more stressful with revelations that Earth will soon undergo an extinction-level catastrophe, leaving the fate of humankind in their hands.

LEAP YEAR - Amy Adams stars in this PG-rated rom-com in which she travels to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend on February 29, in an old Irish custom.

TOOTH FAIRY - A hockey player (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) whose penchant for knocking out other players' teeth has earned him the nickname The Tooth Fairy, is sentenced to community service in which he has to actually perform the duties of a tooth fairy, complete with tutu.

9TO5: DAYS IN PORN - New documentary focusing on the lives of the people behind the adult entertainment industry.

DARK NATURE - Troma Team released this Scottish addition to the eco-thriller genre.

DOGORA - From French director Patrice Leconte (GIRL ON THE BRIDGE, MONSIEUR HIRE), this wordless documentary in the vein of the KOYAANISQATSI trilogy examines life in modern Cambodia, set to music.

And some highlights from our JUST ADDED section, available for the first time on DVD:

SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS: THE 80s

Attention, fellow Gen-Xers! These totally rad 80s favorites are guaranteed to bring back fond memories of popping pop rocks in front of the TV on Saturday mornings, surrounded by your collection of Garbage Pail Kids. Remember the MONCHICHIS theme song: "mon-chi-chi, mon-chi-chi, oh so cute and cuddly?" Or what about my personal favorite, THUNDARR THE
BARBARIAN? This treasure trove also contains  MISTER T, THE BISKITTS (those stubby little dog creatures from medieval times), THE FLINTSTONE KIDS, the short-lived CHUCK NORRIS cartoon, THE KWICKY KOALA SHOW, ED GRIMLEY, GALTAR AND THE GOLDEN LANCE, and DRAGON'S LAIR!

NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS (1958)

Naive country bumpkin Will Stockdale (Andy Griffith) is drafted into the army (which he accepts enthusiastically, as a great honor) and proceeds to annoy everyone around him with his sunny disposition and do-gooding, in this popular satire which was surprisingly ahead of its time. Be on the lookout for Don Knotts in a supporting role!
