- Le BEAU SERGE - The late great french director Claude Chabrol's first international hit. This is also considered the first FRENCH NEW WAVE film, started a movement. Available on DVD from Criterion.
- The WARPED WORLD OF KOREYOSHI KURAHARA - Don't be put off by the title of this amazing collection of fun-loving 60's era Japanese cinema. Criterion's Eclipse Series has done a fine job with this 5 disc collection, with titles that span just over a decade we can see Koreyoshi's unique style in a variety of settings. This is essential viewing for fans of bold, playful cinema- the only analogs that come to mind are Sam Fuller and Jean-Luc Godard -- Koreyoshi is his own beast.
