It's like FALLING DOWN, MISERY, & IRON CHEF, a treat for horror fans.
A praiseworthy entry into the seldom attempted sub-genre: foodie horror. After a scathing review tanks his life’s work, a pretentious organic/local foods chef decides to test his pompous critic’s palate- chained up in the basement. This is a fun to watch, script-driven thriller that more closely resembles something like Stephen King’s MISERY than SAW VII. The film’s actual stars, totally underrated indie acting veteran James LeGros and Joshua Leonard (Humpday), are excellent adversaries. Glass Eye Pix (Larry Fessenden also graces us with a typically ‘Larry Fessenden’ performance as the P.I.) continues to be a beacon of hope in the otherwise slumping horror genre.
