Take a thrill ride with the Redwood Originals.

Billed as "THE SOPRANOS for the new century," SONS OF ANARCHY comes from the writer of THE SHIELD and stars the ubiquitous, vaguely simian Ron Perlman alongside promising newcomer Charlie Hunnam and underrated TV goddess Katey Sagal (MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, FUTURAMA). It's basically a retelling of Hamlet, in modern central California, with a biker gang called the "Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original (SAMCRO)" as the royalty. Hunnam plays young biker Jax, whose late father founded the gang intending it to be more of an icky peace-and-love brotherhood, rather than the ruthless crime syndicate it has become under the management of Jax's controlling mother (Sagal) and stepfather (Perlman). All of the acting is exquisite, but Sagal is especially a joy to watch. A cutthroat, conniving, secretly string-pulling joy. As an FX show, SONS OF ANARCHY has not been given the attention it deserves, despite it being just as good as any HBO or major network series.
